Meet My Family

The whole reason I get to do this is because of my family and for that, I think it’s important to introduce you to them!

A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away (Colorado)… Dave and I were introduced to each other by my younger brother. Dave likes to say that as he shook my hand in the Apple store, he thought to himself, “This is the girl I’m going to marry.” Six months later and we were married! There was just a comfort and a familiarity that I’ve never been able to properly put into words. Anyone else have that? I mean, don’t get me wrong, we have plenty of differences, but when it comes down to it…. he’s just always felt like home. He is passionate, artistic, honest, absolutely hilarious and the hardest worker I know. He’s my best friend and made my dreams come true by giving me the greatest three gifts I could have ever asked for.

My kids are hands down the greatest joys of my life and I am just one lucky mamma to be able to love them and watch them grow. We had them fairly close together which has definitely made things…. interesting *cough cough* completely chaotic and I don’t know whether I need a cup of coffee or a glass of wine *cough*.

Jack is our oldest at 4 1/2 years old. He may be my oldest but he will forever be my baby boy. He is just so smart and innovative and he’s growing up way too fast! He comes up with things that I’m just so impressed with! I’m also convinced he will be a pilot or something when he grows up because he’s pretty much obsessed with anything that flies or floats. Balloons, planes, kites, helicopters, you name it- he loves it. He’s fascinated! Do any of you have a child that won’t stop talking about something they love? That’s Jack with balloons… This kid cracks me up daily. If he’s not going to be a pilot, then maybe comedy is in his future because he’s mastered the, “Hey Mom, look at me,” then I look over and he’s making the most ridiculous face he can come up with on the spot. I love it and I love him!

Jack and Ben are just shy of 21 months apart. Ben is a little past 2 1/2 and I wish he would stay this age forever! I don’t want to admit he will be 3 in a few months! No… just no. Dave and I have this special place in our hearts for Ben because he is a middle child just like the both of us. We can seriously relate, Bro. Ben has these huge dimples just like his Daddy and I think he knows he can use them to get anything he wants because he’s just so gosh darn cute! Okay, okay just one more cookie… okay two. Ben is a fearless little tank. I couldn’t even try and count the amount of times I hear a *crash* followed up by an “I’m okay… I’m okay.” He’s also just about one of the happiest kids I’ve ever met and he and Jack are joined at the hip best buddies. They honestly don’t know what to do when the other one isn’t around. This isn’t to say there aren’t also moments (okay multiple times a day, all day every day) that they can be completely at each other’s throats. Yes, this definitely happens. But even if one of them is in time out for whacking the other in the head with a Little Tikes baseball bat, the other one still says, “But where’s Ben?” Oh shoot I gave it away didn’t I? I tried so hard to keep that story anonymous. Oh well!

Last, but certainly not least, we have our little 6 1/2 month old sweetie pie, sugar plum, ladybug, squishy face, extraordinarily beautiful, Claire! I may be a little biased… but I don’t think so. There was a time we thought we might be done having kids and be good with our two boys… until Claire came along. This little girl just makes our family complete! She is spunky, sweet to the core, a go-getter, and absolutely adores her brothers as much as they adore her. She started crawling a couple of weeks ago already, but it’s not enough for her to crawl early, she is now trying to pull herself up to stand too! This is so bittersweet for me since we know she is our last baby. I’m just trying to soak it all in but she’s not making it easy considering how determined she is to keep up with the boys. Honestly, I’m amazed by her though and I love watching her grow! I also love having a girl more than I thought I would. I thought I was a “boy mom” through and through until she showed up…. and I’m loving every second of it!

This little family of mine is everything to me and I am just so grateful to have them all. And I’m grateful I get to share them with you!
